This pH corrector is designed to reduce the pH level of water or nutrient solution at any stage of plant growth. The corrector can also be used to flush the system or its components. It consists of a balanced ratio of acids and organic buffers, which not only reduce acidity, but also stabilize it.

PH-minus during cultivation in a hydroponic installation

The role of pH should not be underestimated in both hydroponic and organic crop production. pH is measured on a scale from 1 to 14: pH 7 is considered neutral, pH below 7 indicates that the environment is alkaline.

The term pH is a hydrogen indicator, indicating the degree of activity of hydrogen ions in a liquid and quantitatively reflecting its acidity. If the solution contains more hydrogen (positively charged) ions, then we have an acid, which varies on the pH scale from 1 to 6.9. If the solution contains more hydroxyl (negatively charged) ions, then it is an alkali, the values of which vary on the pH scale from 7.1 to 14.

Importance of acidity

If the pH does not meet the needs of the plant, then it loses the ability to absorb some of the nutrients they need for normal development and fruiting. Each plant has its own pH requirements, but most crops prefer a slightly increased value of the parameter, ranging from 6.0 to 6.5. But some crops can grow successfully at a pH between 5.0 and 7.5. Increased acidity does not allow plants to actively absorb important substances such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium. To constantly monitor the pH of the solution, a pH meter is used. Using pH correctors, this parameter is changed to the required value.

When the pH increases above 6.5, some nutrients precipitate, which negatively affects the development of the plant.
