Humidity

Everything is more or less obvious here, because it is in a humid environment that the seeds are placed in order to germinate. And even if the germination process does not begin, high humidity can cause them to start to deteriorate.

Most often, cannabis seeds die or germinate at the wrong time precisely because of high humidity, but too low a figure is also bad, because they can dry out and still lose their germination.

The best solution is to place rice, pieces of silica gel or other material that absorbs moisture inside the container with seeds.

This will help draw excess moisture out of the air, but will not harm germination.

Temperature

This factor is not as important as the level of humidity, but still significant. In general, as the practice of many growers shows, in a dry place, even at room temperature, germination can be maintained for a very long time.

However, seeds are a living organism, and like any other organism, all their life processes slow down when the temperature drops.

In a dry and cool place, they will be able to maintain their viability longer than in a dry and warm place.

It is very important to avoid constant temperature fluctuations. Because of them, condensation forms, which violates the above humidity requirements.

In addition, frequent temperature changes harm the seeds themselves. The ideal temperature for storing seeds is about 3-5 degrees.

Which places are suitable for storage?

Given all the recommendations above, the most obvious option that comes to mind first is a refrigerator.

If for some reason this option is not suitable, you can choose any dry place away from sunlight. But, of course, with this storage option, the seeds will not retain their germination for as long as in a cool place.

A basement or cellar is also suitable, but in such places it is necessary to place materials in the seed container that will absorb excess moisture.

Silica gel is a dried gel that absorbs moisture well. It is made from solutions of silicic acids.

Germination - the percentage of germinated seeds in relation to planted.
