What lamps do you need to grow marijuana

Artificial lighting replaces the sun for the plant, activating vital processes. Under the lamps, hemp sprouts, grows and gives bumps. Despite the many variations that are suitable for growing, cannabis growers often resort to using three:

DNaT

The bright orange luminary copies the solar spectrum of the glow, which is a significant plus. Under them, the plant feels great, quickly rises and blooms confidently. Sodium lamps are cheaper than diode lamps, but have several disadvantages. They get very hot, which makes them difficult to use in small grow rooms, also require additional equipment and consume more energy. Despite this, HPS is popular, regularly illuminating home grass thickets.

LED

LED light sources have become actively used relatively recently. They do an excellent job of flooding the cannabis with a thick light. Models differ in shape, power and beam range, helping to choose a lamp for any situation. The disadvantages include the high price, which is justified by the advantages of LED lamps. Diode lamps heat up little, require less electricity and are not at risk of short circuit.

Phytolamp

This is the name of a lamp made on the basis of an LED or sodium lamp. From standard light sources, phytolamps differ in the presence of several emission spectra, allowing hemp to receive a full range of light. Seeds after germination and during the vegetative period need a blue spectrum, and with the onset of flowering in red-orange. A special lamp provides the plant with the necessary rays, and advanced models are able to change the mode from one to another.

Which lamps are suitable for growing cannabis

Having dealt with the best lighting options for marijuana, let's look at other lamps suitable for both autoflowering and photoperiod plants.

ESL

Energy-saving light bulbs can also be used to raise a bush. They emit light of a suitable spectrum and, with sufficient power, replace the sun with hemp. However, for full-fledged growing, it is worth assembling a structure with a dozen light bulbs with your own hands. This is due to the weak light output of the luminaries, which makes ESL inconvenient for large grow.

Mercury

Arc mercury lamps with the use of insulating additives have a blue spectrum in their glow. The range of rays will be good at the vegetative stage, when there is an active mass gain. It is worth knowing that the lamps actively emit heat, which will have to be controlled with additional ventilation.

For the sake of getting a rich harvest, you should not save on lighting. It is a key component of a successful harvest!
