Why do we need cannabis curing?
Having collected a fragrant crop of boscos and dried it for a couple of days, I can't wait to start tasting. What could be better than smoking a juicy bud that took several months of hard work? In fact, not everything is so simple, because for the full readiness of the crop, curing is required. Curing is the slow drying of cannabis fruits under controlled conditions. During this period, sugars and fertilizer residues break down. The process helps to keep the product longer, increases its power, as well as taste and aroma. In addition, the weed smoke becomes softer, and the shelf life in a cool, dark place increases to two years.
Cones curing in the freezer
The buds, ready for further action, are dry on the outside, while the stem does not break under bending. We place them in an airtight container, filling it to the brim. The container should not let air and light through. It is impossible to press the inflorescences against each other, they must be located freely. The container goes to the refrigerator. In the first week, we take out the bumps twice a day, open them for 20 minutes and hide them back in the refrigerator. In the future, once a day will suffice. It is important to prevent the penetration of light when opening the container. In the process, moisture settles on the walls and evaporates when the lid is opened. After a few weeks, when the heads take on a brown color, and the moisture has stopped settling, the product is ready.
Water curing
Water curing is considered by many growers to be the most effective. It allows you to clean the weed from unwanted components in a short time and give it an improved taste. For water curing marijuana, you will need distilled water, a TDS meter, and an airtight container. Inflorescences are placed in a container with water which is placed in a dark place. Water must be changed daily, measuring the old solution. After a couple of weeks, the water acquires a salt level not exceeding 170 ppm. This means almost complete dissolution of unnecessary substances. We dry the cannabis with a fan in order to prevent the growth of mold in a humid environment.
Quick curing of buds
Quick curing allows you to get a ready-to-eat product in a short time. The method does not imply the highest quality, but it is the simplest, which is noticeable during the preparation of a large amount of grass. Marijuana is placed evenly on parchment paper, and parchment in a dark, cool place. Don't let the weed sit too close, as it will dry out worse. The temperature should not exceed 21 - 22 degrees. During the week, turn the heads once a day. After seven days, the product acquires a characteristic crunch, and the fruits are ready to eat. Grass cured in a short time is stored up to 60 days.
